Pho Viet & Cafe on 3rd Street: A Flavorful Vietnamese Dining Experience in Bend

Super delicious flavorful food that hit the spot on a freezing cold day! The 7 Tropical juice drink with jellies and fruit in it was delicious! Mango smoothie was good. The broth of the hot pot was filled with flavor and heating while sitting on our table! The broth has a similar flavor to that of Tom Yum soup with a sour and spicy lemongrass flavor. It had kaffir lime leaves, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, boiled chicken, cabbage and more. We also ordered combo pho, salt and pepper calamari ($19.99), salad rolls, and Bun Bo Hue. Food was delicious, full of flavors and comforting.

Upon receiving the chaotic the menu, I spent quite some time searching before deciding on pho and fresh rolls, hoping the food wouldn’t disappoint. However, when the food arrived and I started eating, it turned out to be below average. Overall, the food lacked effort and sincerity in both its appearance and flavor. After enjoying the authentic and clean broth of pho from Pho King in Eugene, this pho tasted murky, oily, and was served at a low temperature, leaving me somewhat disappointed. As I usually do when trying a new restaurant, I ordered just one or two items first to taste before committing to additional orders. After sampling the food here, I promptly left and finished the rest of my lunch at a sushi restaurant. I don't plan to visit this place again and therefore wouldn’t recommend it.

Pretty cool plant overgrown and held up with strings to the ceiling. No wait to be seated. Service was good. Food came out fairly quick. Food was very flavorful. I found the hu tieu to be too salty for my liking and very little ingredients actually in it. The hot pot was the most disappointing in that the ingredients were just cabbage, carrots, and zucchini. We got the seafood version and there were hardly anything except imitation crab and little bit of the "frozen seafood mix" type stuff. The broth flavor was strange as well. Very sweet. Not sure exactly what it was supposed to be. The rice dishes we good. My family enjoyed those ok but I did think the pork was a bit too salty too. The best dish was the bun bo hue. That one tasted very good.

My wife is super picky when it comes to pho. She browses reviews for hours to make sure the texture and thickness of the meat is correct. And this placed passed the wife test with flying colors. Quality of the food was excellent. Portions were insane. I took my leftovers home and had it for dinner too. Broth is amazing. Vegetables were fresh. Service was friendly and top notch. Will definitely be coming here again the next time I’m in Bend.

Really good! I’m just visiting for a couple days and happened to be staying across the street from this place so popped in. Is it the best pho I’ve ever had? No. But it was respectable and I really enjoyed the vibe here.

The food is good, but they started skimping on the added Thai basil and bean sprouts that traditionally come with pho. The portion is the tiniest of any other restaurant I’ve ever been to. I asked for additional and they charged me $2 for this incredibly tiny portion… see the photo. It’s not even a full bag like any other pho restaurant would include. I’ve been coming here for years but the value for money is going down hill… Why not just ask people if they want bean sprouts and Thai basil before dishing it out and stop offsetting the costs to the people who want it? It’s really not hard.

Id say you can't be too picky on the Asian options here in Bend, but this place was delicious! The pho and bon bo hue is yummy, id say a little less spicier than usual for the bon Bo but still great. Overall all the food here is good. The mango sticky rice isn't like that Thai style, using sweet mango but it's made with green mango with pandan in the sticky rice. It wasn't my favorite but I enjoyed it! The service was great, the lady was super sweet. I can tell everyone that goes here is frequent customers and I love that lil cute homey vibes.
